Robert "Bob" Allen Leiss

Robert "Bob" A. Leiss age 74, of Crestline, passed away on Wednesday November 10th at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 15, 1947, in Crestline, Ohio to Raymond "Jack" and Anis (Armstrong) Leiss.

On June 1, 1968, in Crestline, Ohio he married the former Janet Hoffman, and she survives him.

Bob worked for the Crestline Police Department for 26 years and retired as a Captain. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Crestline, the Galion Masonic Lodge #414, and the Crestline Historical Society where he was currently serving as the President. In addition, he served in the U.S. Army. Bob was a staple at Ed's Barber shop in town and if he wasn't there you could find him on the Golf course. He will always be remembered as the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend that anyone could ask for.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his mother, Anis; two daughters Tracy (Dan) Baker of Perrysville and Dawn Leiss of Toledo; three grandchildren Jonathan Baker, Shannan Baker and Johann "Joey" Leiss; and two special friends Ed Naufzinger and Josh Crosswhite.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Raymond "Jack" Leiss.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main Street, Crestline. A Masonic service will be promptly at 1:00PM followed by the funeral service. Pastor Diane Thomas will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
