Robert "Bob" Andrew Sand

Robert "Bob" Andrew Sand, 91, of Crestline, passed away on April 27, 2022, at the Crestline Nursing Home.

Bob was born in Bucyrus on December 3, 1930, to the late Edwin and Mary Edna (Schreck) Sand.

Bob graduated from Crestline High School, Class of 1948. He was inducted in the Crestline High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding football performance. After graduation, Bob spent time in California before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Completing his tour of duty, Bob was employed by Shelby Sales Book for many years as a mail clerk. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW, Post 2920 and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859, all of Crestline. Bob enjoyed gardening, walking, crossword puzzles and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians (Guardians).

Bob is survived by his siblings; Jeanne Flanagan, Cambridge; Edmond "Mickey" Sand, Richmond, IN, Deborah Ellis, Mansfield, nieces and nephews; Laura Martin (deceased), Amy Aldana, Bluffton, SC, Michael Sand, Huber Heights, Teri Fitch, Zanesville, Tim Flanagan, St. Petersburg, FL.

Also surviving is special friend and nurse, Erin Stucky, Crestline, and special friends and loving caretakers, Kathy Krichbaum and Christine Marshall, both of Crestline.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 North Thoman Street, Crestline with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will take place on October 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline, where full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the Richland Veteran's Military Funeral Detail.
