Rose M. Candel passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 24, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 7, 1945, in Tiffin, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Ziegler) Snyder.
Rose graduated from Lykens High School and went on to build a career dedicated to helping others. She worked at Magnolia Terrace and provided home healthcare. She later retired from Galion Hospital after 23 years of devoted service.
She married the love of her life, Lanny Candel, and their 59 years together were filled with devotion, laughter, and memories that endured until his passing on January 14, 2024.
Rose was outgoing and hardworking, devoted to caring for others in every season of her life. She loved serving at church and treasured every moment spent with her family. She was a devoted member of the Real Life Nazarene Church for many years. Rose also found joy in creating homemade cakes and candies, happily sharing her sweet treats with those around her. Her love of planting flowers added beauty to both her home and her heart.
"Left to cherish Rose's memory are her son, David (Karen) Candel; her grandchildren, Abraham (Makayla) Candel and Ameleah (Nate) Morris; her great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Mallory, Claire, Skylee, and Tillie; and her brothers, Owen Snyder and Marion 'Ted' Snyder.
Along with her parents and Lanny, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph "Bud" Snyder and William "Bill" Snyder.
Friends may gather on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Gompf Funeral Service - Galion Chapel, 303 Portland Way N., from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. A service will follow at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Chaplain Bill Seymour. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.
