Roy Eugene Rose

Roy (Gene) Rose, age 77, of Crestline passed away Monday morning, May 24, 2021 at his home. He was born July 21, 1943 in Crestline to the late Roy R. and Mary (Zellner) Rose.

Roy was a 1962 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. And then worked at Swan Hose in Bucyrus for 47 years. He enjoyed mowing grass, flowers and gardening. An avid sports fan he supported the Pittsburgh Steelers. His greatest enjoyment in life was watching is grandchildren participate in sports.

On June 12, 1965, Roy married the former Sandy Weisman and she survives. Other survivors include his children, Lynda Winbigler of Crestline, Amy (Ted) Karl of Lexington, Jennifer Rose of Crestline and Alexa Wireman of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Richard Winbigler III, Jacob Winbigler, Tod Karl, Tyler Karl, Alyvia Mills, Grace McDowell, and Brayden Mills; great-grandchildren, Piper Karl, Mallory Karl, and Camryn Karl; sisters Dorothy Rose and Beverly Petty both of Bucyrus.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother Robert Rose.

Friends may call on Saturday May 29, 2021 from 9:00am until the start of the funeral service at 10:30am at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main Street in Crestline. Pastor Rick McCartney will officiate, and the burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
