Ryan Swim, age 72, of Galion died Friday May 21, 2021 at Altercare in Bucyrus. He was born October 6, 1948 in Shelby to the late Harlan R. and Barbara A. (Staats) Swim.
Ryan had worked for the City of Galion as a MEO1 operator for 14 years. He enjoyed many things in life, mushroom hunting, singing karaoke, playing horseshoes, playing guitar and singing with his twin brother Alan. He was a softball coach in Iberia for 13 years and ran the Galion City Golf League for 10 years. He enjoyed anything with a motor and liked driving his racecar. Ryan's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
On April 21, 1967, Ryan married the former Sue Lyon and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Lynn (Brett) Davis of Orrville and April (Jon) Ivy of Galion; twin brother Alan Swim of Galion; grandchildren, Rachel (Jesse) Ditty, Tyler Jones, Jonathan (Beth) Ivy, Jesse (Lexxy) Ivy, and Alison Ivy; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ryan was preceded in death by his sister Sherri Price.
Friends may call Tuesday May 25, 2021 from 11:00AM until the start of the funeral service at 1:00PM at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North in Galion. Pastors Jerrell Ivy and James Lillo will officiate, and the burial will follow in the Iberia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Ryan's memory may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses in care of the funeral home.
