Sandra Darlene Christian, 79, of Galion passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at the James Cancer Hospital after a short illness.
Darlene was born in Marion, Ohio on May 12, 1941, to the late Lauren M. and Martha L. (Lewis) Harper.
Darlene graduated at Galion High School, Class of 1959. She attended F.L.C. Darlene had been employed at North Electric in Galion as well as Whirlpool in Marion. She volunteered at the Galion Hospital, Battered Women Clinic in Marion, First Lutheran (Meals) and many other organizations. Darlene was affiliated with AMVETS Post #1979, Galion as well as the Loyal Order of Moose #303, Galion.
Darlene is survived by her three sons, Stephen (Janice) Balliett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Timothy Evans of Galion, and Troy (Matt) Evans of Proctor, West Virginia; her six grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, and Brandon Evans of Galion, Cory Evans of Dayton, Kelsey Duffy of Key West, Florida, and Michael Balliet of Denver, Colorado; her four brothers, Martin (Margarete) Harper, Robert Harper, Patrick Harper, and Michael (Sharon) Harper; her two sisters, Dianne Price of Galion and Donna (Greg) Cole of Canton; many nieces and nephews; and Darlene leaves a dear and loving friend, Frank Reece.
Darlene was preceded in death by her son, Richard A. Balliet.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 12:00pm, with Celebrant LeAnne Gompf officiating.
