Scott Eric Gerster, 66, of Crestline, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at his home. Scott was born in Crestline, Ohio on October 6, 1959, to the late Norman and Mary (Moyer) Gerster.
Scott honorably served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1981. Following his military service, he built a strong work ethic through his employment at Moyers Junk Yard and later at Vitro, where he worked as a forklift driver.
He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great joy in fishing, mushroom hunting, and long walks in nature. Scott was also an avid NASCAR fan and rarely missed a race, as well as a longtime admirer of classic western movies. These simple pleasures brought him comfort, happiness, and many cherished moments shared with family and friends.
Scott is survived by his significant other of 20 years, Ginger Meadows; his children, Heather Gerster and Scott Gerster; his stepchildren, Cassandra, Michelle, Eric, John, Amy, and Christine; his grandchildren, Brayden Valgas, Dailyn Valgas, Hayden Gerster, and Riley Gerster, as well as numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Rosann Gerster and Jolene (Troy) Shawber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Gerster.
