Stanley Bernard Poffenbaugh, 90, of Crestline, passed away on March 22, 2021 at his home.
Stanley was born in Crestline on July 17, 1930 to the late Elmer S. and Nina Mae (Dewald) Poffenbaugh. He married Lelia (Frank) Poffenbaugh September 17, 1953 and she survives him in Crestline.
Stanley attended Crestline High School until he decided to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Crestline. Stanley worked at Moyer Auto Wrecking for 25 years and Milliron Auto Wrecking for 27 years. ... Stanley enjoyed riding horses and taking part in barrel racing. He could watch the same old time western movies over and over again. Stanley loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He always looked forward to sitting on the back porch with Lelia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Kathy (Lloyd) Mathews, Crestline; Greg "Puffy" Poffenbaugh, Galion; Patty (Mark) Silverwood, Crestline; ten grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; his brother, James Poffenbaugh, Crestline; and his sister-in-law, Norma Poffenbaugh, Shelby.
Stanley was preceded in death by his daughter; Debra Poffenbaugh; grandchild, Shawn Mathews; one great granddaughter; three brothers; Floyd "Bud" Poffenbaugh, Ralph "Junior" Poffenbaugh, Melvin Poffenbaugh, and his four sisters, Donna Geckler; Dorothy Frederich; Marjorie Gibson and Annabelle Poffenbaugh.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline with Pastor Chris Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Sandusky Township Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the Crestline-Galion Veteran's Military Funeral Detail.
In accordance with the Governor's mandate, face coverings will be required to enter the funeral home.
