Stephen Paul Tolar

Stephen Paul Tolar, 66, passed away at his home in Galion after years of declining health. He was born on November 4, 1954 in Gallapolis, Ohio to the late Hamilton A. “Nick” Tolar and Burnetta D. “Bernie” (Triplett) Tolar of Iberia.

His friends and family can all agree that “Steve-O” was the life of the party wherever he went! Quite the comedian and story teller, often reminiscing about all of his adventures and shananigans that he and his buddies managed to get themselves into over the years. He loved the outdoors, rock and roll music, partying, and women until the day he died. It’s safe to say that you either loved Steve, or hated Steve, or maybe both depending on the day and he was alright with that because in the end, he lived his life by his own rules and never made any apologies about it. Steve raised tough and resilient children and he was very proud of them and their accomplishments in life.

His memory will live on through his children, Heather (Brian) Smith of Galion, Travis (Michele) Tolar of Galion, Zachary Tolar of Mansfield and Mindy (Josh) Guegold of Mansfield; four granddaughters, Joscelyn Tolar, Nadia Tolar, Morgan Guegold and Kendall Guegold; six grandsons, Gage Tolar, Jesse Tolar, Kody Frye, Gavin Tolar, Gabriel Tolar, and Zane Tolar; five great-grandchildren, Sophia, Mia, Frank, Kayden and Isabella; one brother, Garry (Michelle) Tolar, Michigan; and five sisters, Pat (Rick) Beatty, Port Clinton, Nickie (Bobby) Burton, Galion, Hope (Dan) Smith, Port Clinton, Brenda (Tom) Shumaker, McComb, Kim (Jamie) Staiger, Galion.

Steve was preceded in death by his son; Corey Tolar, son-in-law; Paul Roberts, former spouse; Wendy Tolar and many of his life-long friends.

Due to the Covid pandemic and for the health of all his loved ones, a celebration of Steve’s life will take place at a later date.
