Steven "Steve" Aller Obituary

Steven "Steve" Edward Aller, 65, of Galion, passed away on March 26, 2026, at his residence.

Steve was born on August 31, 1960, in Galion to the late John and Gertrude (Holderness) Aller.

Steve graduated in 1979, from Galion High School and remained deeply rooted in the community that shaped him. He was raised in Trinity Lutheran Church. Steve later married Kathryn "Kathy" Morrison on July 3, 1990, and she survives him in Galion.

Steve was truly one of a kind-animated, unchanging, and a force of nature. Those who knew him understood that when Steve set his mind to something, it was as good as done. His determination was unmatched, and more often than not, he found a way to get exactly what he set out for.

A self-proclaimed handyman, Steve was rarely still. He was always immersed in a project, whether fixing, building, or tinkering. A skilled mechanic, he took great pride in his work-most notably building his brother's 1968 Camaro from the ground up, a testament to both his craftsmanship and persistence.

Steve shared a special bond with his neighbor and dear friends, Rufus Aurand and Les Mason. Their friendship was one of loyalty, laughter, and countless shared moments that will not be forgotten.

Above all, Steve was a family man. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, always keeping a watchful, caring eye on them. His worry for their well-being was simply another reflection of how deeply he loved. His grandchildren affectionately nicknamed him "Hermit the Hermit Crab," a title he carried with humor and pride.

Steve found joy in life's simple pleasures-especially sitting around a bonfire, sharing stories, and enjoying the company of those he loved. And if you knew Steve well, you knew one thing for certain: you never woke a sleeping bear.

He will be remembered as a good man-steadfast, spirited, and deeply devoted to his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but his stories, laughter, and larger-than-life spirit will live on in all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, left to cherish Steve's memories are his children; Levi (Natalie Davis) Aller of Galion, Uriah (Chelsea Dyer) Aller of Crestline, Cherokee (Josh Haga) Aller of Mansfield and Ryle (Nick) Stevens of Galion; his grandchildren; Jade Aller, Keva Aller, Delilah Aller, Ben Aller and Guiseppe Stevens and his sister, Barb Young of Galion.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Aller, his daughter, Mara Aller, and his brother, Matthew Aller and close friend Kevin Booth.
