Wilbert "Lee" Bachelder

Wilbert "Lee" Bachelder, 88, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Waterford Senior Living-Fairfield. Lee was born on June 7, 1937, in Mount Gilead, Ohio, to the late Alva and Grace (Cole) Bachelder.

Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career as an Application Engineer at North Electric for more than 25 years. He then devoted another 25-plus years as Head of Maintenance at Wonder Gardens Greenhouse, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues through his dedication and strong work ethic.

He married the love of his life, Nancy (Spiegel) Bachelder, on July 17, 1960. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories before her passing on July 11, 2021.

Lee found joy in the simple pleasures of life- fishing in his younger years, gathering with neighbors for board games, and enjoying bingo with friends at the Lexington and Ontario Senior Centers.

Left to cherish Lee's memory are his son, Dean Bachelder of Reading, Ohio; and his sister, Margaret Fulton of Severna Park, Maryland.

In addition to his parents, Alva and Grace, and his wife, Nancy, Lee was preceded in death by his son, David Bachelder.

The family will observe a private graveside service at Crawford County Memory Gardens.
