Willa Fry Obituary

Willa Jean Fry, 87, of Galion, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at The Laurels of Blanchester with her loving family by her side.

Willa was born in Tram, Kentucky, on December 3, 1936, to the late Estill and Artelia (Damron) Conley. On November 24, 1956, Willa would marry the love of her life, Donald Fry, and they would share 46 years of loving marriage before Donald’s passing on July 3, 2002.

Willa was a proud graduate of Galion High School Class of 1956. She was a cherished member of the Real Life Nazarene Church for over three decades, Willa was deeply committed to her faith and actively involved in church activities. She dedicated her time to teaching Sunday school and shared her passion for antiques with those around her. Willa's love for collecting and attending auctions brought joy and excitement to her life, reflecting her keen eye for unique treasures.

Known for her impeccable sense of style and dedication to maintaining a tidy home and beautiful landscaping, Willa was a true perfectionist in all aspects of her life. Her attention to detail and love for pristine aesthetics brightened the lives of all who knew her. Willa could light up a room with her warm smile, and gentle demeanor, many who received care for her through the years were fortunate to get a glimpse of her servant’s heart.

Willa will be lovingly remembered by her children: Donald Fry of Galion, Shawn Fry of Lexington, and Debbie (Dave) Gaffney of Blanchester; her grandchildren: Melissa (Jason) Clark, Wesley (Kelli) Keyes, Allison (Drew) Watzek, Mitchel Fry, Mason Fry, Matthew Fry, Jared Gaffney, Collin Gaffney, and Chloe Demint; her great-grandchildren: Joey, Jacob, Addison, Carson, Mason, Weston, Braden, Titus, Carter, Hazel, Finley, and Eliana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

It was a joyous reunion at the Gates of Heaven, as Willa was welcomed home by her parents and husband; sister, LeEtta Robinette; granddaughter, Ashley Gaffney; and daughter-in-law, Abby Fry.
