William Michael “Mike” Salvati, 71, of Crestline, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2020.
Mike was born in Crestline on February 22, 1949 to the late “Tony” and “Ginny” (West) Salvati. He married his loving and devoted wife, Carol (Nalley) Salvati on December 27, 2002, and she survives him.
Mike lived in Crestline his entire life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crestline. Mike served his country in the United States Marines, during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. Afterwards, he was employed by the Crawford County Highway Department for twenty years. He then worked at Ground Level Solutions for twenty years as a home energy inspector. Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taking trips to the ocean. He loved cars and being spontaneous. Mike was a huge fan of music, especially listening to Elvis. Above all else, Mike loved spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepson; Shawn (Marie) Nalley, McKeesport, PA., his step-grandchildren; Zachary and Ryan, his sister; Margie Grimes, Marion, and his nephew; Tyler Grimes, Warner Robins, GA; his niece, Jessica (Bryan) Damron, Mansfield; his sisters-in-law, Diane (Mark) Bumpus, Mansfield; Debbie (Dan) Heichelbeck, Shelby; Cathy (Frank) Villegas, San Antonio, TX; and his nephews-in-law, Tyler Ham and Tommy Quinlin.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Grimes.
Private funeral services will be held for the family. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline with Dr. Rick McCartney officiating. In light of the circumstances in our world today and keeping with the guidelines of social distancing, at a later date, a public service will be held and announced on the funeral home’s website at masfh.com.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Deacon Dave Zuech for his weekly visits, and Dr. Rick McCartney for his ministry. Also, special thanks to the Salvati family for all of their support; Mary Salvati, Annie Salvati, Dave Salvati, Danny Salvati, Bob Salvati, Christy Salvati, Rick Salvati and Debbie Chucci.
