Betty Jean “BJ” Kleinschrodt, 96, of Bucyrus died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at her home in Carlisle House Assisted Living, Bucyrus, with her family by her side.

BJ was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 17, 1921 to the late Ernest T. and Oneta M. (Wolfe) Rayburn.

BJ was a bank teller during her working career. She was a life time member of the Wahneta Chapter #235 Order of Eastern Star. BJ enjoyed her chocolates. She enjoyed camping, square dancing, and playing the card game Skipbo. One of BJ’s favorite adventures was taking day trips to the lake with her daughter, Sandy. They would take a chair and sit and watch the boats at the lighthouses. Afterwards, they would enjoy fish sandwiches and ice cream. BJ loved getting pampered and having manicures. She was known to always have beautiful nails.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Baldy Hoffer and her husband Dale of Galion, her daughter-in-law, Susan Spangler, Canal Winchester, her sister Ruth Braddock, Newark, her grandchildren, Amy Spangler, Scott and Kathy Baldy, Juli and Andy Knoblock, Lori and Duncan Klimionok, and Joseph and Amy Baldy, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband George Kleinschrodt, her son, Lee A. Spangler, her siblings, Loleta Tangey, Laurene Wilson and Clara Pillows. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Spangler.

Graveside services will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion at a later date.
